January 3 - Australia: Cairns

A much-anticipated day off!

We slept in today!  It was so nice.  "Sleeping In" means that I got up at 7:30 and Jon got up at 8:45.  It also means that I took a nap later on, falling asleep with my book on my stomach and Jon got to log into the 'Net and watch the Florida/Maryland game stats on-line.  Jon got out to run a few errands and also to sneak by the wine store to pick up a few bottles.

Then he made pizza - something he's been craving to make for a good week now.  Not only did he improve his dough recipe, but he also improved his finesse:

Sticking your tongue out is a vital part of the process.  One doesn't question the expert!

It took a while to make, and we didn't eat until 8:30.  But the pizzas were masterpieces!  Even the one that ended up face-down on the oven door.

We had ice cream for dessert and then sat around and read our respective books.  What a great day off!
