The Process of making Indian Prints:

They take a huge piece of teakwood with a carving on it, put it into some dye, and stamp it onto the cloth.  If the print will have multiple colors then there are other stamps with inlaid designs to go over the original print which fills in the colors.  

 

Then the cloth dries in the sun for two days which changes the stamps to their actual colors.  Or, if time is an issue, an acid/water mixture can be used to expedite the coloring process.
