March 4 - Australia: Cairns, Queensland

We woke up and Mike packed up for his departure.  From Cairns, he's flying to Alice Springs and then onto Perth to see some family.  Jon drove him to the airport, making a few souvenir stops along the way.

When Jon got home, I made him some eggs for breakfast and he sat at the computer for a while.  I ran out to do some errands, and when I came home he was still playing online.  So I sent him to bed.

He slept for at least four hours, so obviously he needed it.

I spent the entire time catching up on journals and making marinara sauce for dinner.  Since we're leaving in a few days (on the 7th), we have to get rid of all this stuff in our 'fridge.  I finished up most of the produce, but we're going to be tossing a lot of condiments.  That's always such a drag.

And while I'm on the subject of leaving, I just have to say that we're not very excited to go.  We've come to love our little townhouse and domestic life.  Once we get on the road again, we'll get some of the wanderlust back.  But for now we seem to be procrastinating the planning stages our trip.  We know we're going south, but we haven't read ahead for "points of interest".  And we haven't contacted any of our friends to tell them we're coming.  That's so sad, isn't it?  We should be so excited to see more of Australia.  I expect that we'll get that excitement soon enough.
